On the Biro 3334, if you’re getting drift cuts, check wheel tracking and blade tension with a deflection gauge; 6 mm deflection at 10 N is my go-to, keeps kerf true and reduces bone dust. Anyone running different numbers or a specific blade width and seeing better throughput?
Running a 5/8" x.022" on my 3334, I get straighter cuts and a touch more speed at ‘5 mm about 12 N’ instead of ‘6 mm at 10 N’ — like tuning a guitar a half-step tighter. What blade thickness are you on? If you jump to 3/4", keep deflection 4–5 mm and watch guide heat.
Quick example: on my 3334, I only get stable cuts at your “6 mm at 10 N” after I lightly dress the lower wheel tire with Scotch-Brite to restore the crown and re-track under load; otherwise tension creeps and the kerf fattens with bone. When pushing throughput on beef knuckles, I pre-tension a hair higher for two warm-up cuts then settle back to spec, which keeps bone dust down without wandering. Worth checking if the lower wheel tracking mark shifts after a few minutes?
