How to Maintain Optimal Temperatures for Meats

Did you know that different types of meat have specific ideal storage temperatures to maintain freshness? For instance, beef should stay around 34°F to 38°F. I’m interested in hearing practices others use to ensure their cold storage systems keep everything at those critical levels.

Maintaining temps can be such a hassle! I’ve found that using a good thermometer really makes a difference — nothing worse than guessing if it’s between 34°F to 38°F. Have you tried a digital one that alerts you if the temp gets out of range?

Having a reliable thermometer is crucial for keeping beef at 34°F to 38°F! I also check the seals on my freezer regularly… How often do you calibrate yours? :cut_of_meat:.

It’s definitely tricky to keep everything at the right temps! I’ve found that placing a small bowl of ice in the fridge helps regulate the moisture level, which in turn can stabilize the temperature. Have you tried that, @amanda_b27?
